Tasting Notes
The 2022 Ruppert Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, cassis, and cherry blossom. On the palate, layers of ripe fruit are complemented by notes of cedar, bay leaf, and sweet spices, creating a wine of depth and generosity. Fine-grained, silky tannins and a smooth, rounded structure capture the vintage’s approachable and fruit-forward character.
This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its character. Natural sediment may occur.

While Coombsville has become a favorite among Napa Valley Cab lovers in recent years, we've always appreciated this AVA for its consistent climate, vibrant acidity, and red fruit character. The back palate offers impressive length, carrying ripe red fruit on a nearly endless finish. As our last pick of the season, the cooler weather allows for extended hang time, developing nuances other AVAs can’t achieve. With deep alluvial soils and a touch of flinty minerality beneath the fruit, this wine may initially seem soft, but it reveals a rich, structured profile. Named after my grandfather, Paul Ruppert Baldacci, who balances gruffness with tenderness, this wine reflects his character perfectly.
